We are delighted to invite you to our 11th International Symposium of Ethics in Perinatology, entitled "Paternalism and Maternity", to be held in Charleroi on Thursday, May 23, 2024.

Since the dawn of Humanity, women have had their reproductive behavior dictated by the medical corps, men and society. For young, sane women, the injunction to have children and the obstruction to definitive sterilization prevail. On the other hand, for some women with disabilities or social breakdowns, involuntary sterilization is never far away. 

Come and debate with Prof. Sophie LARIBI-GLAUDEL from the University of Lorraine, Marie-Hélène LAHAYE, feminist lawyer and author, Prof. Anna SMAJDOR from the University of Oslo, Prof. Marius TURDA from Oxford Brookes University and Prof. Sam ROWLANDS from Bournemouth University. 

Dominique Burge and Joséphine Turli will be producing capsule videos showing the reality of these issues from a woman's point of view.
